The institution was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2015, and Shivakumara Swamiji was posthumously awarded the Padma Vibhushan in 2019. For pet moves, this shapes the town in two practical ways. First, the road leading to the Siddaganga Math and the surrounding campus belt carries heavy two-wheeler, bus, and pedestrian traffic through the morning and evening hours, and the streets are noticeably busier during the annual Shivaratri jatra and other major festival days. Two: Tumkur district is Kalpatharu Nadu — the coconut country — and it also sits on one of India's most active granite-quarry belts and the busiest national highway in South India. The district was historically India's largest producer of coconuts, and the "Kalpatharu" name — a Sanskrit term for the wish-fulfilling tree — reflects how central the coconut economy has been here. The Tiptur copra market, in the western part of the district, is one of the largest coconut and copra trading centres in the country, and the district's coconut groves stretch across Tumkur, Tiptur, Gubbi, and Kunigal taluks. Alongside this, the belt around Tumkur, Chikkaballapur, and Kolar has been one of India's most productive granite-quarrying regions for decades, and the roads that connect the quarries to the highway carry heavy truck movement through the working day. On top of that, Tumkur sits directly on NH-48 — the Bengaluru–Mumbai corridor, which carries the highest density of commercial vehicles of any national highway in South India, and which is being widened between Bengaluru and Tumkur as part of the larger expressway upgrade programme.
