Two things that shape every Sonipat pet move

One: Sonipat is one of the oldest cities in India, and its identity as the Sonprastha of the Mahabharata still shapes how people describe where they live. Sonipat — historically known as Sonprastha — appears in the Mahabharata as one of the five villages that the Pandavas demanded from Duryodhana to avoid the Kurukshetra war: the five being Panipat, Sonipat, Baghpat, Indraprastha (present-day Delhi), and Tilpat. That origin places the city in the same ancient geography as Delhi and Panipat, and it has been continuously inhabited for over two thousand years. The historic core sits close to the Yamuna, and the old city around the railway station and the Arya Samaj Road belt has the narrow lanes you would expect from a settlement of that age. For pet pickups in the old core, we use smaller vehicles or arrange the crate handover from a nearby main road. In the newer planned belts — Sector 14, Sector 15, Model Town, and TDI City — the roads are wider and pickup is straightforward.

Two: Sonipat sits where three major road corridors meet, and the industrial estates along them define the district's traffic rhythm. The first is NH-44, the old Grand Trunk Road, which runs through Sonipat on its way from Delhi toward Panipat, Karnal, and Chandigarh — this is the corridor the Murthal dhabas sit on, and it carries some of the heaviest truck traffic in North India. The second is the Kundli–Manesar–Palwal (KMP) Expressway, which starts at Kundli on Sonipat's southern edge and forms the western half of the Delhi Peripheral Ring — this is where traffic splits off toward Gurugram, Rajasthan, and the ports of Gujarat without entering Delhi. The third is the HSIIDC industrial belt itself — the estates at Kundli, Rai, Barhi, and Kharkhoda, plus the IMT at Kharkhoda — which together make Sonipat one of Haryana's largest manufacturing clusters for textiles, bicycle parts, steel, and auto components. The practical effect for pet moves is that the roads around Kundli, Rai, and Barhi carry continuous commercial traffic on weekdays, and the GT Road through Murthal and the city can slow considerably in the evenings when the dhaba traffic builds. We plan residential pickups for early morning or mid-afternoon, and we avoid the industrial corridors during shift-change hours.
